Combat Fix

This is how we did a quick fix to the wording in the MRQ combat system, the following is pretty simple.

Step one: attacker declares attack.

Step two: Defender declares if he is going to use a dodge/parry/or no defensive action.

Step three: continue with combat as per the MRQ system. By having the defender declare his action BEFORE he knows if he is hit or not is not only more realistic, but it also fits with the combat table perfectly.

Please note that if the defender declares "no defensive action" or has none left the attacker still has to roll to hit, a hit strikes and goes directly to the hit location chart while a miss is just a miss.

Hopes this helps...

In addition to the above, some players may also wish to treat the Failed Attack / Failed Reaction results on the Dodge and Parry tables to be "Attack fails" rather than the current "Attack succeeds as normal"; i.e. the attacker must succeed on the initial Attack roll in order to successfully hit the opponent, even if that opponent fails to Dodge or Parry.
